First Day Hike at Goliad State Park and Historic Site

Greet the first sunrise of the year with a sunrise hike!

If your New Year's resolution is to see more sunrises, we've got you covered! Join a ranger on a sunrise hike to greet the New Year with a refreshing hike through Goliad State Park. We will start at headquarters and follow the Angel of Goliad Hike and Bike Trail to the statue of General Zaragoza, where the rising sun will emerge from behind Presidio lo Bahia. We will then return to headquarters.

Total hike length is 1.8 miles

Our path will be wheelchair-accessible, paved with slight elevation changes.

Program is free with park entrance: $4 per person, free for kids 12 & under.

Meet on the front porch of headquarters by 7am. Dress for the weather with comfortable shoes.
