First Day Hike: Hike the Trails Challenge (Self-Guided)

Start your year right, with a hike! Take on our challenge to travel all of our trails on January 1!

Join us for the First Day of the year with a hike!

Park Alert: The Walnut Ridge Unit bridge is scheduled for upcoming maintenance (start date TBD). Check back or call the park for trail updates.

Take on our Hike the Trails Challenge! For each trail you complete, get a stamp on your Trail Pass at Headquarters. Total trails distance is 6.1 miles.

If you hike one trail or all of the trails, you can celebrate your start to the new year with an official First Day Hike sticker! Pick yours up at Headquarters!

Take photos on each trail and post to social media to show off your accomplishments!

Cost: This event is free with the purchase of a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass.
