Spend the first day of 2025 exploring our trails at your own pace.
Get your curiosity out for this first-of-the-year scavenger hunt bonanza!
Start at the CCC Refectory to pick up your scavenger hunt sheet. You must find all items on your scavenger hunt sheet and take a picture of them. Show your pictures to the ranger or volunteer at the CCC Refectory when you return from your hunt to receive a First Day Hike sticker! There are three levels (different ways to participate) this year.
Level 1 – travel down the short Kiskadee Trail into the Birding Area and back. The scavenger hunt has 5 items.
Level 2 – travel down Longhorn Trail and back for a total of 1.2 miles. The scavenger hunt has 10 items. Level 3 – travel down Longhorn Trail, the connector trail, Catfish Point Trail, and then back the way you came for a total hike length of approximately 2.5 miles.
The scavenger hunt has 15 items.
